Monday 15th October League Night

Tonights game saw the Ross-shire Club A team travel to the Balconie, and all the Balconie team were in confident spirits after the demolition of The National Hotel the week before. The team for Tonights league fixture was Tom, Gram, Ralph, Liam and Tony. A nervy start for the Balconie team saw Tom lose his game, then it was Gram up and he superbly won his very close game. Ralph was up next, and after what looked a simple clear up, missed an easy ball into the centre pocket, and his opponent went on to win the game. 2-1 down after 3 games. Next up was Liam and after another very close game, Liam Narrowly lost out to his opponent, leaving the score at 3-1 down for the Balconie Team. Tony was up next to try and salvage something before the half time, and after some absolutely awesome cueing throughout his match, won his game to leave the score at 3-2 down heading into the break.

After some fine Cheeseburgers at the break, the first to play the second half was Tom and unfortunately lost his game, giving us a score of 4-2 down. Gram knew how important his game was, and he duly delivered a fine win, closing the gap to 4-3 down, The pressure was really starting to mount, and it was Ralph that was up next, who won his game, could this be the start of a turnaround. Tony was up next, and after a very close and hard fought game, Tony lost his game, leaving the Ross-shire Club needing only 1 more game for the outright win. The Balconie were up against it, and really needed Liam to win his game to draw the match, which he did. A very hard fought draw, and in reflection, it was a fair result. Onwards and upwards as next Monday we face the Ross-shire Club B team, again at the Balconie Inn, on Monday 22nd October 2012. Well done to the boys for tonights efforts.
